2026 BDOA Pong Tournament Recap
Thank You for an Awesome Tournament
The 2026 Beer Drinkers of America Pong Tournament is officially in the books.
We had 36 teams come out to compete, hang out, and spend the day playing pong with us. Over the course of about 5½ hours, we completed 107 games from pool play through the final championship match.
Most importantly, we had a great time.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, played, brought friends, helped out, took photos, and made the tournament what it was. Events like this are exactly what Beer Drinkers of America is about: getting people together, competing, having some drinks, and making a good day out of it.
We’re already planning to bring the tournament back again in September 2027, and we hope to see everyone back.
2026 Tournament Champions
🥇 LOB — SJ & Thomas
Congratulations to LOB, represented by SJ and Thomas, on winning the 2026 BDOA Pong Tournament.
Their championship run wasn’t easy.
LOB took a loss during the bracket and was sent into the losers bracket, meaning one more loss would have ended their tournament.
Instead, they battled all the way back.
LOB fought through the losers bracket, reached the championship against Bomb Zombies, won the first Grand Final to force the bracket reset, and then won again to take the championship.
They finished the bracket with:

+23 cup differential

Congratulations to all three teams on making it through a long bracket and finishing at the top of a 36-team field.
Tournament by the Numbers
The tournament app tracked games throughout the day, which gave us some pretty cool numbers once everything was finished.
36 Teams
That means at least 72 players competed in the tournament.
107 Games Played
From pool play through the double-elimination bracket, we completed 107 games during the event.
5½ Hours of Pong
The tournament ran for roughly five and a half hours from the opening games through the championship.
10 Wins — LOB
LOB finished with the most bracket wins of any team, going 10–1 on the way to the championship.
+23 Cup Differential — LOB
LOB also finished with the best bracket cup differential in the tournament at +23.
Biggest Win — Fat and Stupid
Fat and Stupid recorded the largest win of the tournament with 7 cups remaining.
Biggest Upset — Hop Gobblers
The tournament app recorded #34 Hop Gobblers defeating #31 Tim and Tom Connection as the biggest upset of the bracket.
The Championship Run
One of the best parts of a double-elimination tournament is that losing once doesn’t mean your day is over.
LOB proved exactly why.
After dropping into the losers bracket, SJ and Thomas had to keep winning just to stay alive. They worked their way through the bracket until they eventually earned another shot at Bomb Zombies.
Because Bomb Zombies entered the Grand Final without a bracket loss, LOB had to beat them twice.
They did.
LOB won the first matchup to force the reset final, then won the final game to officially become the 2026 BDOA Pong Tournament Champions.
That made their final bracket record 10–1.

The final bracket standings finished with:
- LOB – SJ & Thomas
- Bomb Zombies – Leevi Tyler & Tawni Tyler
- The Ultimate Party Krew.

We had strong runs throughout both sides of the bracket, and with 36 teams competing, making it deep into the tournament was no small task.
The Bracket
The tournament used two pool-play games for seeding before moving everyone into a double-elimination championship bracket.
That meant every team had multiple chances to play while still creating a true tournament finish.

This wasn’t a one-time thing.
The BDOA Pong Tournament will return in September 2027.
We learned a lot from this year’s tournament and already have ideas for improving the experience, making the tournament smoother, and continuing to grow the event.

If you didn’t, you have about a year to get your team ready.
