Yes. Membership is intended for people of legal drinking age in the United States (21+). Some events may allow under 21 participants depending on location and format (Like our UNO Tournament).
No. BDOA is about beer culture and community. What you drink is up to you.
No. Participate as much or as little as you want. Membership doesn’t expire based on attendance.
Chapters are local groups of 20+ members in a geographic area. They host meetups, events, and compete nationally.
The Championship Plaque is the highest national honor in BDOA. Winners of official national competitions earn their name on the plaque, representing both themselves and their Chapter.
Membership cards are shipped via USPS in a stamped envelope (no tracking). Cards are printed every 3–4 days and typically arrive within 3–4 days after shipping. All other packages include tracking information.

I was a little skeptical of BDOA in the beginning. A cool idea, but what if it’s just a magnet for frat boys? Lucky for my social life, I’m willing to be proven wrong. I’ve attended several BDOA events including the turkey leg, Uno tournament, bowling, and Mario Kart tournament. Importantly, as a woman, I’ve felt safe and included in these competitions, and had a blast every time. A lot of the events have been family friendly which has made it even easier for me to attend, and my 8 year old has had a lot of fun too. BDOA is about community and camaraderie with a little friendly hijinks sprinkled on top. I even got a discount during events at the brewery for being a member! Thank you, Hayden, for establishing such a welcoming organization and hosting such kick ass events! Looking forward to the next one 🙂
I originally thought my card was a gag gift and that this was a funny made up thing. I quickly learned it was a legit thing with tons of like minded people with one thing in common, the love for BEER! If you’re seeing this and considering spending the cash on this card. It is 100% worth it! It’s such a fun membership. A buddy of mine showed me his card the day of my wedding and I didn’t even hesitate and bought it that moment. It’s worth joining the BDOA! There’s plenty to do once you’re in to!
As Tom T. Hall put it in 1975, I Like Beer. This community is founded on those three words. Words that have been said for thousands of years all across the world. BDoA is a community filled with great people and great drink. So “roll out the barrel and lend me your ears.” Join BDoA.
When I first heard about this, I thought it was hilarious and wanted to join in! I even got my close friends’ memberships, but I wasn’t sure what all the membership perks included, or the weekly games in their Discord, or the events happening all over the country. Once you start a chapter, the fun never stops! I love it, and I’m really looking forward to having more members join us.
