WHY JOIN BDOA?
A bar gives you somewhere to drink.
Beer Drinkers of America gives you people to meet, a community to belong to and something bigger to participate in.
BDOA brings members together through local Chapters, events, games, competitions and other ways to connect.
Some members just want the card and community. Others attend events, build Chapters, compete or help shape the organization.
Beer is what brings us together. The people are what make it worth building.

THE BDOA MEMBER HUB — COMING SOON
The BDOA Member Hub is being built to make it easier for members to actually find and connect with each other.
Members will be able to:
- Build a member profile
- Find members by city and state

The goal is simple: Make it easier to find another BDOA member wherever you are.
BDOA CHAPTERS
This is where BDOA becomes local.
Chapters give members in one area a local community for meetups, events, competitions, partnerships and whatever else they want to build together.
Already have a Chapter near you? Join it!
No Chapter in Your Area?
You can help build one.
You don’t need 20 people before contacting us.
A potential Chapter can begin with a founding group of five local members and work toward the 20-member requirement for official Chapter recognition.
PLAY. COMPETE. REPRESENT.
BDOA members can participate in games, challenges and competitions throughout the year, including Friday Funday, national challenges, Chapter competitions, tournaments, seasonal contests, rankings, records, giveaways and prizes.
Some competitions can be played from anywhere in the country. Others happen through Chapters or at in-person events.
WE HAVE A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP PLAQUE.
Win an official national competition and your name can become part of BDOA history.
SHOW UP TO SOMETHING
One of the best ways to get more out of BDOA is simple:
Come hang out.
Members and Chapters get together for brewery meetups, sporting events, tournaments, trivia, bike rides, watch parties, charity projects, virtual meetups and random nights out.
Some things are organized nationally. Some are built by local Chapters.
And sometimes it’s simply:
“We’re grabbing beers Friday. Come hang out.”

HELP BUILD BDOA
Want to get more involved?
BDOA Committees give members a way to help shape different parts of the organization.
- Beer Thinkers focuses on ideas, improvements and the member experience.
- Pints for a Purpose focuses on charity, service and community projects.
You don’t need to run a Chapter or hold a leadership position to help build BDOA.
YOUR MEMBERSHIP IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT
There isn’t one right way to be a BDOA member.
Join a Chapter. Meet somebody new. Play a game. Go to an event. Help build something.
Or keep your card in your wallet and jump in whenever something sounds fun.
Be as involved as you want.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What do I actually get with my membership?
Your membership gives you official BDOA member status, a membership card, founding member access, entry into BDOA competitions and challenges, the ability to join or start a Chapter, access to member events and socials, and the opportunity to represent your city or state in national rankings.
2. Why should I join instead of just going to a bar?
A bar gives you a place to drink. BDOA gives you an organized national club to be part of. Members can join Chapters, attend events, compete in challenges, represent their state, and help build a community that goes beyond one night out.
3. Can I join even if there is not a Chapter near me yet?
Yes. You can still become a member, participate in national challenges, represent your state, and help build interest in your area.
You can also start your own Chapter in your area with 20 members. Reach out to us to learn more.
4. Do I need to be 21 to join?
BDOA membership is for adults 21+. Some public, family-friendly events may include non-member guests depending on the venue, activity, and local rules. BDOA does not sell alcohol.
5. Do I have to drink beer?
No. BDOA is about beer culture and community. What you drink is up to you.
6. Do I have to attend every event?
No. Participate as much or as little as you want. Membership doesn’t expire based on attendance.
7. What are Chapters?
Chapters are local groups of 20+ members in a geographic area. They host meetups, events, and compete nationally.
8. What is the Championship Plaque?
The Championship Plaque is the highest national honor in BDOA. Winners of official national competitions earn their name on the plaque, representing both themselves and their Chapter.
9. How do you ship?
Membership cards are shipped via USPS in a stamped envelope (no tracking). Cards are printed every 3–4 days and typically arrive within 3–4 days after shipping. All other packages include tracking information.
