State Of The Association – January 2026
At the beginning of 2025, Beer Drinkers of America had 123 members. Now, at the beginning of 2026, we have 2,004.
I’ve been lucky enough to connect with many of you – some in person, some over email, and others on social media. It has been an amazing getting to know all of you.
You are one of the reasons BDOA is where it’s at now. I want to thank you for being part of the organization and provide you with a roadmap for 2026.
Looking Ahead at the New Year
Goal: 10,000 members by Dec 31, 2026.
This isn’t just about numbers – it’s about giving all of you more tools, events, and connections to get the most out of BDOA.
To reach this goal, BDOA will focus on three key priorities:
- Keeping members updated and informed:
Starting a bi-monthly newsletter (State Of The Association – SOA) that keeps you in the loop with competitions, member stories, and association news – so you never miss a chance to join the fun. - Growing local Chapters:
Chapters give members a hub to organize local events, partner with bars and breweries, and host competitions. Chapters that house national competition winners are able to host the Champions Plaque in their Chapter – all expenses covered by BDOA headquarters. - 2026 Calendar:
The calendar has all 2026 events and competitions. The calendar is designed to keep all members engaged and in the know regarding events, competitions, and socials. These three priorities will give us a strong foundation as we work to grow our membership to 10,000 by 2027. Again if you have any suggestions or ideas, reply to this email and let me know!
BDOA Updates
- Member Count: 2,004
- Biggest State: California – 193 members
- Smallest State: South Dakota – 2 members
- Discord Count: 300+ members – Join the member-only Discord
- BIG HEAD 2 Champion: Mem #928, Tyler P. – West Virginia
Upcoming Event Schedule:
- Uno Tournament: Uno Tournament in Oregon and with Chapters that opt in (Cash prize for first place).
- Spare Beers: Doubles bowling tournament all February long!
- March Madness: Online March Madness bracket and in-person 3-point competition.
Member Highlights
Cheers to Member #128, who has single-handedly run the Discord, giving 300+ members a place to chat, share pics, and connect. He reached out early on to help start it, and now the Discord has state-specific chat rooms and daily activity.
Mem #128 has made the discord a vibrant hub for members nationwide. He is also working with BDOA to hold tournaments with the discord community for prizes.
Cheers to Member #928, who has worked to build the West Virginia Chapter. Through his efforts WV has quickly grown to 20+ members, and has already found a place to call home!
From bringing in new members, to chatting with me about the organization, he has been extremely helpful! I’m excited to see what Mem #928 does with the newly founded Virginia Chapter.

Closing Remarks
As I continue to send the SOAs, my hope is that it becomes less of me, and more of you.
I would like to see a space for members to contribute stories, updates, reviews, quotes, and whatever else they want to share with the community.
Once again, thank you . It’s been a great first year, and I look forward to 2026 with you!
