BDOA Chapters

Start a Beer Drinkers of America Chapter in Your City

BDOA Chapters are local groups of members who represent their city, host events, and compete in national BDOA competitions.

Chapters bring members together for socials, competitions, and challenges while helping grow Beer Drinkers of America across the country.

If you enjoy organizing events, competitions, or just bringing people together over beer, starting a chapter may be a great opportunity.

How to Start a Chapter

Starting a chapter is simple.

  1. Become the Chapter President
The Chapter President organizes the Chapter and serves as the primary contact with BDOA headquarters.
  2. Recruit Local Members
Gather 20 members within roughly a 30-mile radius of your chapter city.
  3. Establish Chapter Leadership
    Each chapter should have:
    • Chapter President
    • Chapter Vice President
  4. Complete the Chapter Formation Document
The 20 founding members sign the official Chapter Formation Document.
  5. Activate the Chapter
Once the document is submitted, your chapter becomes official and receives the BDOA Chapter Flag.

Chapter Formation Document

To officially establish a BDOA Chapter, the chapter must submit a Chapter Formation Document signed by 20 members within the local area.

This document confirms the founding members of the chapter and establishes the chapter with BDOA headquarters.

Once the completed document is submitted:

  • The Chapter becomes an official BDOA Chapter
  • The Chapter receives its Chapter Flag
  • The Chapter is added to the national chapter list

The Chapter President is responsible for coordinating the signatures and submitting the document to BDOA.

Chapter Requirements

  • 20 members in one local area (within about a 30-mile radius of the chapter city)
  • Chapter President: Acts as the main contact with BDOA headquarters. Self-nomination for new chapters is allowed.
  • Chapter Vice President: Acts as the contact when the President is unavailable.
  • Local Meetups: Members should be able to meet at a central location and gather at least once every two months for events, socials, or competitions.

Currently there are no chapter dues or fees to start a chapter.
