Welcome to the *2024 Turkey Leg—where cleats met balls and the stakes were sky-high!
On November 16, 2024, nine iron-legged hopefuls laced up their cleats and took to the gridiron at Westmoreland in Portland Oregon.
With trophies, collectables and honor on the line, the morning was filled with cheers and laughter as BDOA athletes ‘toed’ ball after ball through the uprights.
The Competition Begins: Rules, Signups & Shit Talking
Tensions were high as players checked in and guessed projected distances. While everyone got warm and practiced, they had fun ripping old school NFL cards, chatting and enjoying a cold one. The lineup looked like this:

The group kicked a total of 57 field goals with 19 makes and 38 misses. Have a look at some of the kicks below. Surprisingly, the form looked good!

The Athletes With The Nicest Legs!
It came down to three finalists, members: #001, #011, and #14. With no kicking experience between them, the finals shaped up to be an exciting showdown of professional amateurs!
The winners got a 1980s something kickers comic book, a Budweiserx49ers poster, and the engraved trophy pint glass!
I will never make fun of kickers again!

That was the quote of the day, and it perfectly summed up how we all felt after kicking these record setting field goals. So we all decided to head to the local sports bar for college football, shuffle board, big buck hunt, and arcade basketball. Thanks again to everyone that came out and competed! We are looking forward to the next social!
